Havlíčkův Brod and its surroundings offer a number of interesting walks and trips. All the necessary maps and guidebooks are at your disposal at the reception, where they can be either borrowed or bought. There is the possibility to hire a bicycle as well.
Havlíčkův Brod
The Town of Havlíčkův Brod is known as a Baroque gem of the Posázaví region. The centre of the town has been made an urban preservation area. The Church of the Virgin Mary’s Assumption dating back to the 13th century.
Havlíčkova Borová
Karel Havlíček Borovský Memorial situated in his native house. St. Vitus Church –a dominating feature of the village and the whole area.
Chateau with an exhibition in the municipal museum. A widely admired Valley of the Doubravka River lying near the town.
Ledeč nad Sázavou
Castle dating to the 1st half of the 13th century.
Lipnice nad Sázavou
A castle, which belongs to our collection of biggest Gothic castles, dominates the little town. There is a memorial to Jaroslav Hašek in his house.
A noteworthy historic town with an urban preservation area and well preserved historic core. Bohuslav Martinů (1890), a famous composer, was born here. Municipal museum with B.Martinů Memorial.
Urban preservation area. Chateau dating back to the year 1560 with an exhibition of fire-fighting. Gothic tower dating back to 1497.
Světlá nad Sázavou
Chateau dating to 1567 with a park. Stvořidla Nature Reserve on the Sázava River.
UNESCO – Jewish town with two synagogues, considered unique in Europe. Jewish cemetery.
Žďár nad Sázavou
UNESCO – St Jan Nepomucký Church in Zelená Hora, a holy shrine built between the years 1719-1722 in a Baroque Gothic style by Jan Blažej Santini-Aichle.
