The Golden Lion Hotel is situated in the historical centre of Havlíčkův Brod on Havlíčkovo Square. It offers eleven cosy rooms with an extraordinary atmosphere and a stylish restaurant with excellent cuisine.

The hotel is located on the northern part of the square in the third house on the right, number 176. In former times there used to be the original guesthouse called the Golden Lion, with first written records dating back to the year 1559, operating until the 1920-ies.

History
1559 - The Golden Lion guesthouse is first mentioned.
1634 - Jan Rudolf Trčka of Lípa, the owner of the town and the last member of his family, was thought to have spent the last days of his life here.
1836 - The emperor Ferdinand V. Dobrotivý with his wife stayed here on his way from the last Czech king’s coronation.
1920 - The Golden Lion guesthouse was closed down.
2002 - The present owners bought the house and completely restored it. It is ready to continue its hundred years of tradition.
